Ruaridh the Lion is a combination of Angus’s childhood nickname Red Angus and his astrological sign Leo the Lion.

In Scottish Gaelic, Ruaridh is derived of the Gaelic words Ruadh “red” and Righ “king”. Growing up in Scotland, Angus’s nickname was Ruaridh Angus because of his red hair.
